Workflow and control software for Linoprint printing systems

LinoFlow makes printing variable information easy. The control software handles simple as well as complex data and generates the variable information according to a defined set of rules. LinoFlow also offers a number of layout functions and automatically performs required pre-press steps.

LinoFlow is easy to use. The user interface is clearly structured and shows the print content in true colors and to scale. No print or prepress knowledge is required to setup print jobs. Through secure hierarchy user management, it is guaranteed that no print job can be modified, mistaken or changed without authorization.

LinoFlow can be integrated into existing control and production systems, allowing new and further opportunities for the planning department and management.

There is only one start and stop button needed to handle the print system. Everything else will be controlled automatically by the workflow-software, including: The synchronization with the transport units, the positioning of the substrate, the constant transport under the printhead, the adaptation of the variable data, the attention to handling of the print jobs in the specified time and the number of prints.

For the complex assignments of layout and prepress there is a clearly defined user-hierarchy, which prevents print jobs from being modified by mistake or without authorization. Depending on the version of the software, simple to highly complex data can be imported and converted. To arrange the print job from static and variable images and text-elements there is a layout-module available, which mode of operation equates to the current layout program. The user interface, which provides an excellent user support system, is based on the Linoprint-philosophy, clearly arranged and designed.

The print system can be integrated into large production systems and from there operated by remote control. The production and print processes will be automated as much as possible – which equates to an increased efficiency for the complete workflow. One hundred percent control over the print results is assured. The complete print width will be surveyed with a high resolution camera for print quality as well as graphic and text contents. Therefore it is assured that every package is marked correctly and can be sent to the next production step or to the customer.

LinoFlow merges different types of data from different data-sources. Depending on the function of the print system the software package is offered in different versions: LinoFlow Spot for monochrome print processes supporting simple data types like TIFF. LinoFlow Color for the grey scale or multicolor print processes supporting PDF as well as grey-, RGB and CMYK-image files.

The user interface is well arranged and provides excellent user support. The program can be used without any specific print knowledge since the print image is displayed true to scale with the correct color(s). LinoFlow contains approved prepress components from Heidelberg, which accomplish an adapted screening, a first class rendering and precise color management. The preflight check assures correctly generated print data.

LinoFlow can be integrated into existing ERP-systems, so that print jobs can be generated automatically. Depending on the system requirements different software components are available for integration which can be combined with each other. One hundred percent control over the print images. The Linoprint systems can be equipped with the print-inspection system LinoFlow Vision, which controls static as well as variable print contents on the fly. Due to its fast algorithms and processes LinoFlow Vision can efficiently control complex print jobs with many variables.
